How Trinity3 came to be and where we want to go from here.

As one of the original members of the Trinity3 family, I can tell you that we are often asked about our company history and where the company name came from. We are asked if there is a theological connection. The answer is a bit longer than a simple yes or no.

Dave Hoeffel - LegacyThe vision for Trinity3 started with David Hoeffel. Dave was a firm believer in service. Anyone can sell hardware. His simple phrase was “We don’t want to be a ‘me too’ company” that just does what all other hardware sellers do. The majority of our team had already been in the K-12 technology space for many years. From that experience we had a good idea of how to expand on that vision. While we continue to provide hardware to the K-12 market, we do not consider ourselves to be only a hardware vendor. Instead the focus of our company is on providing technology services to our customers, including deployment, warranty and professional learning services.

In the summer of 2018 Trinity3 suffered the loss of our leader Dave Hoeffel. We are incredibly fortunate to have had his leadership which created this strong team. While Dave can never be replaced, he has left an indelible mark on our company and the way we choose to do our business. Dave’s goal was to build a business that could eventually run and grow without him. While none of us could foresee how quickly that would happen, I can tell you that he did just that. Trinity3 is not only surviving, but thriving as a result of Dave’s efforts.

As for a theological connection, this also started with Dave and our majority owner Gary Embretson. Both believed that their faith played a role in shaping the culture of our company. As part of that company culture the Trinity3 Foundation was created by Dave for the purpose of giving back to the education community that has been such a big part of our lives. The foundation has been accumulating funds with every sale since 2017.

At the 2019 ISTE conference Trinity3 gave the first three donations from the Trinity3 foundation. These donations were given to charities chosen by three randomly drawn Trinity3 customers, enabling them to give back to their communities in a variety of ways. We look forward to continuing this effort going forward.
